What's new in 4.1
This update is all about charging. Horizon turns your battery level into a sun rising over water, and while you charge, specks of light drift across the screen into it. It was designed for big and foldable screens, so a wider display shows more of the scene instead of a stretched one.
- Horizon charging animation — A new sunrise style made for big and foldable screens, including iPhone Duo (Premium).
- Plug in and it starts — On iOS 27, add the Unplugged shortcut from Settings and the charging animation and Live Activity start on their own when you plug in, then end when you unplug (Premium).
- Control Center controls — Show the charging animation, start a charging session, or pause battery alerts right from Control Center.
- Bigger screens, used properly — Onboarding, the Dashboard, Notifications and every charging animation use the extra width on larger displays.
- Feature Requests board — Submit ideas, vote on them, and follow what gets built.
- Fixes — Lock Screen Live Activity updates no longer stop during long charging sessions, and the Watch update chime plays once instead of several times.
